Congratulations! You’ve decided to consider an historic barn as the site for your special celebration. Our barn certainly offers a unique and unforgettable venue. That’s why you found our venue. You are looking for something special. We are frequently asked “So, other than the location, how is a barn wedding different from weddings at a more traditional venue?”. Unless you are working with a wedding planner the difference is three additional phone calls.

Unlike your experience with a traditional wedding venue, renting our facility gives you the opportunity to select from a wide variety of food providers. As you probably know the Traverse City area is “foodie destination”. Many of our restaurants and caterers offer unmatched quality and selection when it comes to food. We have the added advantage of a vibrant, local agricultural community providing local foods to discriminating vendors. We feel confident recommending:

  • Chef’s Pride (231) 943-9683
  • Catering By Kelly’s (231) 938-3663
  • Grandview Catering (231) 932-9713
  • Greystone Catering (231) 632-3663
  • The full service Grand Traverse Resort (800) 236-1577

There are many excellent caterers but these are a few of our favorites.

The second call you need to make is for the rental of tables, chairs and linens. Again, the Traverse City area has a number of businesses that specialize in providing these services. You have a selection of vendors and products. They will set up according to your individual plan and take down after the event. We recommend Monstrey MacDonald (231) 631-1804, Taylor Rentals (231) 347-1840, and GJ’s (231) 943-0700.

The third call you will have to make is for portable toilet facilities. (Barns don’t have bathrooms) Modern portable toilet facilities can be as fancy as any you would find in a fine hotel. Some trailer facilities come with flushing china toilets, hot and cold running water, music, air conditioning and hardwood cabinetry and doors. Even basic facilities have lighting and running water. We recommend Houdek’s (231) 256-9241 and At Your Service (231) 536-9668 for reasonably priced, high quality facilities.

So, with a few extra phone calls you have exactly what you want….your way!

We can promise you that for a little extra effort you will have an amazing wedding that no one will forget.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns that we haven’t addressed here.

Measuring 40′ by 60′ with an additional 14′ x 40′ porch , the barn can accommodate up to 150 people for a sit down dinner. Additionally there is plenty of space for tent set up. Usually, we provide the barn for 7 hours. Longer periods can be discussed. Music ends by 10:30 with the event ending by 11:30.

Yes, we want your wedding day to be stress free so we provide reasonable access to the Barn and Farm for setup the day before and take down the day after.

Can we bring in our own beverages?

Yes, you can bring in beverages of your choice. If your caterer does not provide bartenders, see contract for conditions.

Is your barn heated or air conditioned?
While we know of no barns that are heated and air-conditioned propane heaters are available to rent for late season weddings. We are the only venue that we know of that offer two “Big Ass Ceiling Fans” (sorry that the name of the company) that provide excellent airflow on those hot summer days.

What are the restrictions on use?
Usually we provide the barn for 7 hours on your wedding day. Longer periods can be negotiated. Music ends by 10:30 pm by ordinance with the event ending by 11:30 pm.

Can we have access to the barn for set up the day before the wedding?
Yes, we want your wedding day to be stress free so we provide reasonable access to the barn and farm for set up the day before and for take down the day after. Many facilities will “double book” a weekend. We never do that. There will be no events scheduled the day before nor the day after your wedding.
